We are a small firm by design,

But very big on all the little details.

Our mutual passion for travel resulted in establishing Wild Life Wine Safaris travel boutique in 2012 to share the magic of Africa and Winelands with clients.

From start to finish, we are very hands on,  collaborating one-on-one with you, consulting frequently with our in-country partners, including guides and on-the-ground operators to ensure a seamless and unforgettable trip for you.

Nancy Lifset

Owner / Travel Curator

A former Capitol Hill staffer, Nancy discovered her true calling mid-career: African travel. She became hooked on her first visit to South Africa in 1998 and returned repeatedly before deciding on an extended stay in 2009. Her time as a volunteer at a Namibian wildlife sanctuary and living in the Cape Winelands was chronicled in her book, “Back to the Wild Life.” While hosting a South African wine tasting, Nancy met Phyllis. Combining their passions for African travel and Winelands knowledge, they launched Wild Life Wine Safaris – the first food and wine-centric African travel boutique – in 2012. Nancy returns to Africa at least twice a year, exploring new venues and pursuing her Winelands passion.

Phyllis Stebbins

Owner / Travel Curator

Native of Zimbabwe, Phyllis and her family moved to South Africa when she was 10 years old. Having spent most of her life in the Stellenbosch wine district with relatives in the winemaking business, she experienced South African viticulture from vine to wine. After long spells in the United States and Europe and unable to ignore the yearning and longing for Africa, she and her husband returned to her beloved Cape to live and share her childhood playground – the African bush. In 2007 they returned to Washington DC, where a serendipitous meeting with Nancy, as passionate about South African wine and Africa as herself, led to the inevitable creation of their travel company, Wild Life Wine Safaris.

We return to the continent at least twice a year to ensure the quality of our offerings, discover hidden gems, to stay current on regional developments and now, evolving COVID requirements and protocols. We, the owners, work directly with you to curate moments to match your dreams.
