This does not happen by chance especially during an unforeseen COVID Tsunami while on our way to Richard Branson’s resort! It is always the behind the scene organizers who are madly hard at work who make it seem seamless! …and that was Phyllis! The events of our stay were not changing daily, but by the hour! However, Carl and I continued to have a memorable time in spite of it! (No easy task) Phyllis continued to monitor & provide us with as many experiences without a hiccup! Our private guide, unbeknownst to us, toured us around (not easy) as the country was closing down systematically. Carl and I had a 5-star vacation which would not have been possible without Phyllis in charge. Would we recommend Wild Life Wine Safaris - Yes! Would we recommend Phyllis - definitely YES! You will love everything about her!
Nancy and Phyllis provided us with a great cross section of the South African experience from the amazing animals on safari, to the terrain, to the people and the culture. And did I mention the Winelands? Absolutely spectacular! Each location brought new, unforgettable experiences. Dining and accommodations were all superb. Every step of our trip was well planned and organized, every detail addressed. Thank you Wild Life Wine Safaris for a life changing adventure. ‘ Til we meet again.
Nancy put together a tremendous 12 day program that we are still talking about. She spent considerable time asking us questions about what we wanted to do and see along with what our funding limitations were for the trip. She paired us with wonderful guides who had terrific personalities and very strong knowledge and background on the areas we experienced and had people meeting us at every layover or exchange to ensure we made our connections and destinations on time. The accommodations were first rate. Depending on who is answering the question, our 12 days in South Africa is either number one or two on our list of the most spectacular vacation experiences we have ever had.
We recently returned from an 11-day family trip with Wild Life Wine Safaris. I wish that I could put into words what an AMAZING experience we had. I know that we saw and experienced all that we possibly could in the far too short a time that we were there. Phyllis handled everything for us. Our only decision each day was what to order for dinner. I loved every part of our glorious vacation but my favorite part was the safari. I’ve never been within feet of elephants while sipping my morning coffee. Mind blowing! I have already recommended Wild Life Wine Safaris to several friends and will continue to do so.
I knew it would be wonderful, but that hardly does justice to the truly amazing experience it was. The wineries and our accommodations were gorgeous, dining experiences were top notch and the Safaris were beyond my wildest expectations! Seeing all the animals in their natural surroundings was such a treat. Seeing a male lion sitting by the roadside, and a leopard leap up into a tree was unbelievable, giraffes, elephants, and zebras were everywhere—I could go on forever. Thanks to Phyllis and Nancy of Wildlife Wine Safaris for providing such happy memories, I will never forget. My friends will be listening to my stories of this experience for the rest of my life!
Wild Life Wine Safaris allowed me to follow my lifelong dream of visiting South Africa and seeing exotic animals in their natural habitat. Because it is daunting to plan a trip halfway around the world when there is only limited travel information available, I decided to use experts who have actually lived in South Africa AND know what it is like to be a tourist there. I have to say that I hit a real home run by picking this company. Everything fell into place from the airport pickup clear though my airport drop-off. In the process, I experienced the trip of a lifetime that far exceeded my expectations, which included terrific guided tours of major visitor destinations, scrumptious accommodations, horseback riding through wine country, and a safari experience that knocked my socks off. Plus, they made me realize that luxury was not beyond my pocketbook!
I’d been to Africa before and seen the big five, but never safari animals as close and serene as with Wild Life Wine Safaris in our private game drives. My now wife and I saw everything from Kudu, African penguins, cheetah, 50+ herd of elephants, night owls, and rhino. We were even able to add some days to arrange cage diving with the great whites in Shark Alley. I often think back of how awesome our leisure days were in the vineyards of Stellenbosch and sundowners in Cape Town. Wild Life Wine Safaris gave us a great custom trip without any worries.
They arranged for sparkling wine at sunset on the top of Table Mountain, a wine tasting at the dining room table of the owner of a well-regarded vineyard, and a safari that got us closer to wildlife than we ever imagined possible. At one lodge they selected for us, an elephant decided to sneak its trunk under the roof of the dining room to see what leftovers he could find. Nancy and Phyllis have the personal knowledge and expertise to design an adventure perfectly suited to you or your small group. Looking forward to returning to South Africa under their capable direction.
Our anniversary trip to Botswana and Victoria Falls Safaris was without question our most exciting and enjoyable vacation EVER (and we’ve had the good fortune of many)! It would be difficult for us to pick a favorite day, site or event, for each day brought new and different adventures that even in our “anticipatory imaginations” we could have ever expected. So many pleasant surprises which we will never forget - the genuine friendliness of the staffs and guides and the pride Botswanans have in their country. The changing nature and beauty of the Botswana as we traveled from desert to the Delta. The charm and the ever increasing poshness of the camps as we traveled from one to another. GREAT PLANNING JOB NANCY! Talk about attention to detail - it was not lost on us that we were in tent 5 in Kalahari; tent 6 in Chitabe; tent 7 in Tuba Tree; tent 8 in Ngoma; and tent 9 in Elephant Camp!
Knowing our love for animals, Nancy and Phyllis customized our trip with wildlife experiences in mind. Every day was a great day because of the choices they made and the time and effort they gave making all the necessary arrangements and handling all the logistics. I have and will continue to recommend Wild Life Wine Safaris to all my family and friends. No one can create a better African experience.
I have now been on 4 trips to Africa arranged by Wild Life Wine Safaris. The first trip exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds and before I was even home, I was planning my second trip. Every little detail of my trips were carefully arranged by Nancy and Phyllis. The only thing I had to decide, with extensive guidance and recommendations from them weeks before my trip, was the restaurants I wanted to visit and how I wanted to spend my free time. If you are even remotely thinking about traveling to Africa, you simply MUST call Nancy or Phyllis of Wild Life Wine Safaris. They will personalize your trip itinerary to your tastes and desires. Thank you, Nancy and Phyllis for far exceeding my expectations every time.
